Print of the Hill

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, turnaround, file prep, and our products.

General

What's your typical turnaround time?

Most standard jobs (business cards, flyers, postcards) are ready in 2–3 business days. Rush and same-day printing is available — just ask and we'll tell you what's realistic for your job.

What file formats and resolution do you accept?

We accept PDF, AI, PSD, PNG, JPG, and TIFF files. For best results, submit print-ready PDFs at 300 DPI with 0.125" bleed. Not sure about your files? Send them over and we'll check for free.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Nope. We handle short runs and single-piece jobs all the time — that's the advantage of digital printing. Larger quantities get better per-unit pricing, but there's no forced minimum.

Can I pick up my order or do you ship?

Both! Most local customers pick up from our shop on Holly Street in Park Hill. We also ship anywhere in the US — just let us know when you place your order.

Business Cards

What paper should I pick?

Heavy Cover is our most popular for business cards — thick, rigid, and hard to ignore. If you want something more tactile, Premium Uncoated has a soft, writable feel. Specialty Color (Colorplan) is the top-shelf choice: dyed through, so the edges show your color.

Can I see paper samples before ordering?

Yes. Request a free sample pack from our Samples page and we'll mail you swatches of every tier.

Is the listed price the final price?

No. Prices start from $45 and vary based on paper tier, quantity, and any finishing. Get a quote for your exact specs.

Can you match my brand's Pantone color?

Our digital press produces accurate CMYK color. For exact Pantone matching, ask us — we'll tell you what's achievable.

What's the minimum order?

250 cards. If you need multiple designs, you can combine them in one order — for example, 10 designs × 100 each hits the 1,000-card mark and keeps the per-unit cost down.

Flyers

What size flyers do you print?

Our press takes sheets up to 13×19″, which gives you a finished piece up to about 12.5×18.5″ after trim. Standard letter (8.5×11″) and half-letter are common, and we accept custom sizes within that range.

Which paper works best for flyers?

Standard Gloss & Satin is the go-to — colors pop, the price is right, and it handles well. Premium Uncoated works if you want a softer, more natural feel.

Can I get a short run?

Yes. Digital printing means we don't force huge minimums. Get a quote for your quantity.

Postcards

Can I mail these without envelopes?

At standard USPS postcard sizes, yes. Ask us about sizing if you're planning a direct mail drop.

Which size works for EDDM?

The 6.25 × 9″ size. USPS Every Door Direct Mail requires the piece to qualify as a flat, which means it has to be taller than 6.125″ or longer than 10.5″. At 6.25″ tall, this size clears that threshold. Our other postcard sizes (4 × 6, 5 × 7, 6 × 9) fall just short — 6.0″ is not enough.

What paper do you recommend for postcards?

Heavy Cover is the most popular — rigid and durable through the mail. Standard Gloss & Satin is a lighter, more affordable option for larger runs.

Do you handle mailing?

We print them. For mailing services, we can point you in the right direction — ask us.

Booklets

How many pages can a booklet have?

Page counts run in multiples of 4 (each sheet gives you 4 pages). Saddle-stitching works well up to about 52 pages; for thicker projects, coil binding is the better fit.

Can the cover be a different paper than the inside pages?

Yes. A heavier cover stock with lighter interior pages is a common setup.

What about coil binding?

Coil binding is available through our trade partners for projects that need it — thicker page counts, lay-flat reading, or frequent handling. Tell us about your project and we'll recommend the right binding.

Posters

What's the largest poster you print?

Our press takes sheets up to 13×19″, which gives you a finished poster up to about 12.5×18.5″ after trim. Custom sizes accepted within that ceiling. For anything larger, ask us and we'll tell you what we can arrange.

Can you print on thick stock for framing?

Yes. Heavy Cover gives you a rigid, frame-ready piece. Premium Uncoated has a softer, more natural look that works well behind glass.

Do you print art reproductions?

We do short-run art prints on our digital press. Color accuracy is strong, but if you need archival or giclée quality, ask us about options.

Die-Cut Stickers

Are these waterproof?

They're vinyl, so they hold up well outdoors and on water bottles. For specific durability needs, ask us.

What's the difference between die-cut and sheet stickers?

Die-cut stickers are individually cut to the shape of your design. Sheet stickers come on a standard sheet with multiple stickers per page — better for packs, samplers, and handouts.

Can I get a small quantity?

Yes. Digital printing means we don't require large minimums. Get a quote for your exact quantity.

Sheet Stickers

How many stickers fit on one sheet?

It depends on the sticker size and sheet layout. Tell us what you need and we'll figure out the best arrangement.

Are these the same as sheet labels?

Sheet stickers are designed for general sticker use — packs, handouts, branding. Sheet labels are built on synthetic Spinnaker stock for durability and are better suited for product labeling, mailing, and organization.

Can I mix different designs on one sheet?

Yes. We can lay out multiple designs on a single sheet — great for sticker packs and samplers.

Product & Packaging Labels

Can these go on curved surfaces like jars and bottles?

Yes, that's what they're designed for. Tell us the container dimensions and we'll recommend a label size that wraps cleanly.

Are they food-safe?

Ask us about your specific use case. We'll tell you what materials are appropriate.

I only need a small batch — is that okay?

That's the point. We print for small producers and makers who don't need 10,000 units to get started.

Can you help with label design?

We're a print shop, not a design studio. But if you've got artwork that needs minor adjustments for print, we can usually help. Ask us.

Sheet Labels

What sizes are available?

We print on standard sheet layouts with common label sizes. Tell us what you need and we'll match it or recommend a size.

Can I use these for product packaging?

For basic product labeling, yes. If you need more durable or specialized labels (shaped, etc.), check out our Product & Packaging Labels or Die-Cut Stickers.

How are these different from sheet stickers?

Sheet labels are printed on synthetic Spinnaker stock for durability and water resistance — better for products, mailing, and organization. Sheet stickers are printed on standard sticker stock and are better for packs, handouts, and branding.
